The skies turned blue after a day of rain as we rode the Clinton-Mukileto ferry to Whidbey Island in the Pudget Sound. Seagulls came out of nowhere and hovered right above me. I took a quick photograph, then realizing I was in a very vulnerable position, retreated back inside the ferry.
Plimsoll Line
Built in 1863, while Lincoln was president, the star of India still sails a couple of times each year. In the 10 minutes that I was there the other morning, I must have seen 50 people stop and take photos of the ship. One woman, from Toronto, who was in town for a triathalon and asked me to take a shot of her with the ship in the background. I made her stand on top of a bench.
Heading Home
Islands of Water
It rained all night and in the morning I found this image of water drops on the hood of my neighbor’s truck. I think he must have recently waxed the metal which allowed the water to bead up so well. My car just looks dirty!
Branches & Leaves
I am always drawn to monochromatic imagery where one color dominates the scene. I also love backlight, the way the sun shines when it comes from behind the subject.
